Position summary
Odunela Group is recruiting a Governance and Records Apprentice to support controlled governance, implementation and programme records.nThe apprentice will learn how organisations maintain reliable policies, decisions, actions, document versions and implementation evidence.
This role is suitable for a careful secondary-school leaver who is interested in governance, law, administration or records management.
What you will learn
The apprentice will learn how to:
- organise a controlled document library;
- assign references and metadata;
- maintain action and decision registers;
- distinguish approved and draft documents;
- support programme meetings;
- organise implementation evidence;
- track deadlines and outstanding actions;
- identify missing or inconsistent records.
Principal Responsibilities
Under supervision, the apprentice will:
- upload, file and index approved documents;
- enter document metadata;
- maintain version-control records;
- support action and decision registers;
- organise meeting packs;
- format meeting notes and action lists;
- track implementation-document submissions;
- organise evidence folders;
- identify missing signatures, approvals or references;
- report duplicate or conflicting documents;
- maintain confidentiality;
- complete assigned learning exercises and portfolio evidence.
Essential Requirements
- WAEC, NECO or equivalent qualification;
- strong reading and writing ability;
- attention to detail;
- basic digital competence;
- interest in administration, governance or law;
- honesty and confidentiality;
- ability to follow document-control instructions;
- willingness to receive detailed correction.
Desirable Attributes
- experience organising school or community records;
- library, debating or secretarial activity;
- basic Microsoft Word or spreadsheet skills;
- interest in public administration, law or records management.

- a teacher;
- school principal;
- religious or community leader;
- former employer;
- another responsible adult who is not an immediate family member;
- Confirmation clearly stated in the CV that the applicant:
- is at least 18 years old;
- can work onsite in Lagos;
- is willing to undertake full-time work and structured learning;
- is willing to complete aptitude tests and a practical assessment.
Selection Process
The existing Odunela ERP Recruitment ATS will be used.
The process will include:
- Application and secondary-school qualification check.
- Literacy, numeracy and basic digital aptitude assessment.
- Role-specific practical work sample.
- Structured interview.
- Identity and reference verification.
- Confidentiality and acceptable-use agreement.
- Conditional apprenticeship offer.
The approved assessment weighting is:

An unacceptable integrity or confidentiality result will disqualify an applicant regardless of the total score.
