Position Summary

Odunela Group is recruiting a Finance and Procurement Administration Apprentice to learn and support basic finance, payroll, purchasing, supplier and administrative processes.

The successful applicant will receive structured training in financial records, invoices, purchase requests, supplier documents and controlled ERP data entry.


This role is suitable for a trustworthy secondary-school leaver who enjoys numbers, accuracy and organised record keeping.

What you will learn

The apprentice will learn how to:

  1. organise invoices and payment-support documents;
  2. enter approved financial information;
  3. support payroll-record administration;
  4. prepare basic reconciliation information;
  5. record purchase requests;
  6. organise supplier and quotation records;
  7. maintain delivery and contract documents;
  8. recognise missing or suspicious information;
  9. follow financial and procurement controls;
  10. protect confidential financial records.
Principal Responsibilities

Under supervision, the apprentice will:

  1. organise invoices, receipts and expense documents;
  2. enter approved information into finance and procurement records;
  3. prepare supporting schedules for review;
  4. assist with payroll-document checklists;
  5. maintain supplier-document files;
  6. record approved purchase requests;
  7. organise quotations for comparison;
  8. maintain purchase-order and delivery records;
  9. support contract and renewal registers;
  10. identify missing approvals or supporting documents;
  11. assist with simple spreadsheet calculations;
  12. support asset and inventory records;
  13. maintain confidential records securely;
  14. escalate discrepancies to the responsible officer.
Essential Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate:

  1. WAEC, NECO or equivalent secondary-school qualification;
  2. a satisfactory result in Mathematics;
  3. functional English;
  4. ability to perform basic calculations accurately;
  5. careful record keeping;
  6. honesty and confidentiality;
  7. ability to follow procedures;
  8. basic digital competence;
  9. willingness to learn spreadsheet and ERP systems.
Desirable Attributes
  1. basic spreadsheet knowledge;
  2. commercial, bookkeeping or accounting subjects;
  3. experience handling school, church or community funds under supervision;
  4. interest in accounting, finance, economics, procurement or business administration.
Possible career progression

Subject to performance and organisational need:

  1. Senior Finance and Procurement Apprentice;
  2. Finance Administration Assistant;
  3. Procurement Administration Assistant;
  4. Payroll Administration Assistant;
  5. Associate Finance or Procurement Officer;
  6. future work-integrated study in accounting, finance, procurement or business administration.

  18. is willing to complete aptitude tests and a practical assessment.
Selection Process

The existing Odunela ERP Recruitment ATS will be used.

The process will include:

  1. Application and secondary-school qualification check.
  2. Literacy, numeracy and basic digital aptitude assessment.
  3. Role-specific practical work sample.
  4. Structured interview.
  5. Identity and reference verification.
  6. Confidentiality and acceptable-use agreement.
  7. Conditional apprenticeship offer.
