Position Summary
Odunela Group is recruiting a practical and organised People and Recruitment Officer to operate the Group’s central recruitment and people-administration function. The successful candidate will coordinate recruitment across Odunela Group companies and projects, administer the Group career portal and Applicant Tracking System, support fair and documented candidate selection, maintain employee records, coordinate onboarding and probation, and support the Group’s graduate and workplace-apprenticeship programmes.
This is an operational ownership role. The position holder must be able to create and maintain recruitment procedures, records, templates, reports and controls - not merely coordinate meetings or forward applications.
Principal Responsibilities
The Group People and Recruitment Officer will:
- administer approved workforce requisitions and confirm that recruitment does not begin without proper authority;
- develop and maintain position descriptions, person specifications, screening criteria and recruitment scorecards;
- create and administer recruitment campaigns through the Odunela career portal;
- administer Job Openings, applicants, interview stages, assessment records and recruitment decisions in the ERP Recruitment application;
- review applications against approved essential criteria and coordinate candidate shortlisting;
- schedule screening interviews, practical assessments, technical interviews and final interviews;
- maintain structured interview records, panel scores, conflict declarations and reasons for appointment or rejection;
- prepare conditional offers and coordinate approval before issue;
- coordinate pre-employment identity, qualification, reference and background verification;
- administer employee onboarding, induction records and initial access requests;
- maintain controlled employee, contract, training, attendance, leave and probation records;
- coordinate probation objectives, review dates and confirmation recommendations;
- administer graduate-development and workplace-apprenticeship records;
- coordinate training plans, competency records and employee-development activities;
- maintain recruitment and workforce dashboards;
- produce regular reports on vacancies, applications, time to shortlist, time to appoint, offer acceptance, unfilled roles and recruitment exceptions;
- supervise the HR and Recruitment Apprentice when appointed;
- protect applicant and employee confidentiality throughout the employment lifecycle.
The role is intended to become the operational owner of recruitment across Odunela Group.
Essential Requirements
Applicants should demonstrate:
- a bachelor’s degree, professional qualification or equivalent practical experience in human resources, business administration, psychology, employment relations or a related discipline;
- practical experience in recruitment, HR administration or people operations;
- experience drafting job descriptions and screening applicants against defined criteria;
- experience coordinating interviews, assessments, offers and onboarding;
- competence using an Applicant Tracking System, HR information system or comparable digital platform;
- strong written English and accurate recordkeeping;
- sound understanding of confidentiality, fairness and conflict-of-interest controls;
- ability to handle sensitive personal information appropriately;
- ability to manage several vacancies and deadlines concurrently.
Desirable Experience
Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
- ERPNext HRMS;
- career-portal administration;
- multi-company or shared-services HR;
- graduate recruitment;
- apprenticeship administration;
- payroll-input preparation;
- employment-record management;
- recruitment reporting and analytics;
- startup or greenfield workforce establishment.

Selection Process
The recruitment process will ordinarily include application review, structured screening interview, practical recruitment exercise, functional interview, final interview, references and verification, followed by a conditional offer.
